MAAT at a glance
MAAT is the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology. It stands on Avenida Brasília in Belém, on the riverfront, and it is a different kind of stop from the monuments around it. If you have seen the tower, the monastery and the Padrão, this is where you go for art, architecture and technology.
The price depends on where you live. Visitors who live outside Portugal pay €16 as the regular rate, and residents of Portugal pay €12. There is no single price for every guest, so check which rate applies to you before you plan the budget.

Free entry
Who does not pay.
Children
Children from 0 to 12 years enter free.
Companions
The companion of a visitor with special needs enters free.
First Sunday of the month
On the first Sunday of each month, entry is free from 10:00 to 13:00. This is only for residents of Portugal, so it does not help a visitor from abroad.
Lisboa Card
Do not count on free entry with the Lisboa Card. Ask at the desk what the card gives you at MAAT before you pay.
MAAT against the other Belém museums
Adult prices and closed days in 2026, side by side. The MAAT price is for visitors who live outside Portugal.
| Stop | Adult price | Closed day |
|---|---|---|
| MAAT | €16 | Tuesday |
| National Coach Museum | €15 | Monday |
| Jerónimos cloister | €18 | Monday |
| Padrão dos Descobrimentos | €10 | Open daily, closed on a few holidays |
The closed days work in your favour. On a Monday the monastery and the Coach Museum are closed, but MAAT is open. On a Tuesday MAAT is closed, but the monastery and the Coach Museum are open. Pick the museums for the day of the week you are in Belém, not the other way round.
Getting there and access
Address and practical points.
MAAT is at Avenida Brasília, Belém, 1300-598 Lisboa. Tram 15E stops at Altinho (MAAT), and so does bus 714. Check the current timetable before you go, because services change. The getting-there page covers the other routes.
The museum has ramps, lifts and adapted toilets. The museum points to a free public car park about 500 m away. That applies to MAAT only, so do not assume that parking elsewhere in Belém is free.
