How Belém tours differ
Most Belém tours cover the same core: the Jerónimos Monastery, the church, the tower, the Padrão dos Descobrimentos and the Pastéis de Belém bakery. They differ in length, group size, how you move and what is paid for. A walk, a vehicle ride and a sail on the Tagus are three different products with three different price logics.
Three things matter before you book anything. First, whether the tour fee includes the monument tickets. A stop on a route is not the same as an entry ticket. Second, whether the price is per person or per group. Third, the time slot: the tower and the monastery admit visitors by date and time, and a tour does not remove that. The examples below show single offers, not a market range, and prices are those listed in 2026.

Tour options compared
Prices listed in 2026. Each row is one offer.
| Tour | Length | Group | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guided walk through Belém | 3 hours | Portuguese, English or Spanish; starts at the main entrance of the monastery | €120 per group of up to 12; €10 per person above that |
| Vehicle tour of Belém | 180 minutes | Up to 6 people; e-quad or limousine-style car | €300 as listed |
| Standard sail from Doca de Belém | 120 minutes | Priced per person | €45 per person; private from €400 per yacht |
| Sunset sail | 120 minutes | Priced per person | From €60 per person; private from €495 per yacht |
| Tuk-tuk ride | Varies | Varies | Varies by operator |
The group price of €120 is not the same as a price per person for one traveller. The €10 per person rate on the walk applies only above 12 people, so it is not the price for one traveller. On the vehicle tour, check whether €300 covers the whole vehicle and which entries, if any, are included.

The tour types in detail
What each one involves.
Guided walk
The walk lasts 3 hours and starts in front of the main entrance of the Jerónimos Monastery. It lists the monastery, the church, the tower, the Padrão and the bakery. Treat the stops as a route, and buy the tickets for the tower and the cloister yourself unless the tour says it includes them. Languages are Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Ticket prices →Vehicle tour
A 180-minute tour for up to 6 people, listed at €300. You choose between an e-quad and a limousine-style car. Ask before you pay whether the sum is per vehicle, and add the monument tickets to your budget unless the offer names them.
Tuk-tuk
Tuk-tuk offers vary by operator. Ask about the price, the duration, seating rules for children and access for visitors with limited mobility. What one vehicle offers does not apply to every operator.
Sail on the Tagus
Sailing trips start at the Doca de Belém near the Padrão. You see the tower, the monument and the bridge from the water, not the inside of the tower. Cancellation for group trips is free up to 24 hours before, and bad weather leads to a rebooking offer or a refund.
Tagus cruises →How tour fee, ticket and time slot fit together
Three separate items.
The tour fee pays for the guide, the vehicle or the boat. The monument ticket pays for entry to the tower or the cloister. The time slot decides when you enter, and it is part of the ticket. The tower admits at most 60 people at a time and 960 a day, so a tour does not bypass the capacity limit. If your tour includes the tower, ask which slot it holds and where you meet the guide.
The Lisboa Card can lower the cost of entries, because the tower, the monastery, the Coach Museum and the Padrão are on its list of free attractions. The tower and the monastery still need a booked slot and the number of the physical card, so build your tour around those slots. For tours outside Belém, see the tours page of our Lisbon guide.
Before you book a tour
A short checklist.
Ask what is included
List the monuments you want to enter and check which of them the tour pays for. A named stop is not an entry ticket.
Check the meeting point
Walks meet in front of the monastery, and boats leave from the Belém dock near the Padrão. A time slot for the tower needs its own planning.
Compare per person and per group
A group price and a price per person are not comparable. Work out the cost for your own party before you pick.

Belém tours: frequently asked questions
Does a Belém tour include the tower ticket?
Not automatically. A route stop is not an entry ticket. Read what the tour includes, and if the tower is a stop, ask whether entry and a time slot are part of the price.
How long is a guided walk in Belém?
The walking tour in the example above lasts 3 hours and starts at the main entrance of the Jerónimos Monastery. Group size, language and entries vary by operator.
Is a tuk-tuk tour a good choice?
It depends on the operator. Prices, seat rules for children and access for visitors with reduced mobility are not the same everywhere, so ask before you book.
Can a tour skip the queue at the tower?
No tour removes the time slot or the capacity limit of the tower. Entry is by date and time, and a tour only helps if its slot is booked.
Is the Lisboa Card useful for a tour?
It covers entry to the tower, the monastery, the Coach Museum and the Padrão, and it covers public transport to Belém. It does not pay for tour fees, and boat trips only get a discount of 10 to 25 percent from some operators.
Does this site run the tours?
No. This is an independent guide. The tours shown are offered by other companies, and the prices are theirs.
